Another Grundfos expansion at the Port of Hirtshals

Another Grundfos expansion at the Port of Hirtshals
Once again, the Danish manufacturer of pumps Grundfos expands its testing activities at the Port of Hirtshals. Grundfos has entered into an agreement with the Port of Hirtshals for installation of another test system at the port. The test system will be located at Brokajen and consists of a 40" container that contains an ultra-filtration system and a reverse osmosis system, which serve to purify seawater for process water.

The cooperation between Grundfos and the Port of Hirtshals was established in 2011, when the Grundfoss installed its first test system for saltwater pumps at the port. It is the third time since the start-up that Grundfos expands its activities at the Port of Hirtshals. The new test system was installed at the beginning of February 2014, and Grundfos expects a test period of approximately one year.

Grundfos is one of the world's leading pump manufacturer, and the reason they have chosen the Port of Hirtshals as basis for the test stations is the port's geographical location. The salt content in the North Sea is twice the amount of salt in Kattegat. This makes it possible to test industrial products here, which are to withstand larger corrosion. Simultaneously, motorway E39 provides quick and easy access to the port and the test stations.
