Ferry terminals


The Port of Hirtshals has two ferry terminals, which are situated at the central eastern port and the North Sea Terminal.

The ferry terminal at the central eastern port consists of cargo waiting lanes and two ferry berths. Both ferry berths are equiped with moveable loading ramps that are 20 meters and 30 meters wide. The berths are approximately 200 meters long with a efficient suspension.

The ferry terminal at the central eastern port port is managed by the shipping company Color Line, which has the complete right of disposal over ferry berths and waiting areas etc. Terminal facilities, loading ramps and passenger gangway is established and handled by Color Line.

The ferry terminal at the North Sea Terminal consists of cargo waiting lanes and two ferry berths on Containerkajen and Trailerkajen. The ferry berth at Containerkajen is equiped with moveable ramp that is 32 meters wide. This berth is approximately 200 meters long. The ferry berth at Trailerkajen is equiped with a fixed loading ramp (NATO ramp) that is 20 meters wide. The berth is approximately 110 meters long. Both ferry berths have efficient suspension.

The ferry teminal at the North Sea Terminal is managed by the shipping company Fjord Line that cooperates with the shipping company Smyril Line about the daily operations at the terminal. The terminal facilities are established by Fjord Line, and Fjord Line and Smyril Line dispose of each their passenger gangway.

Besides the two ferry terminals, the Port of Hirtshals also has a ferry berth for port of refuge located on Notkajen. The berth is 220 metres long and 30 metres wide, and is provided with a ro/ro ramp.
