Development of the fishery sector

Port of Hirtshals has a central position within the North European fishery and fish processing. Based on the unique geographical location right by the North Sea and Skagerrak and the close ferry connections to Norway, the port has made it an objective to be Northern Europe's cross field for landing, handling, trading and consolidation of fish. Thereby, the port will become a logistics turntable between the fishing spots between Northern Europe and the markets in Central and Southern Europe.

In Hirtshals, forces are always working on developing the strong field of competences within the fishery, fish processing and logistics, which characterises Hirtshals today. The objective is to make Hirtshals a future Northern European centre for sale of fish for the European markets.
