Land expansion

From 2015-2017, the Port of Hirtshals has established a new land expansion of 190,000 m² east of the port area. The land expansion includes both areas close to the quays and areas ideal for multimodal logistics solutions.

A new main road connects the business areas on the land expansion to motorway E39. The business areas are mainly facing the main road to the business area, and therefore they are visible for traffic to and from the terminal area, where a large part of the traffic to Norway and the North Atlantic is handled..

The finishing construction work will be done in the fall of 2017, but the business areas are now ready for construction and dependent on the location it is possible to build up to 8-20 metres in height.

Reservations have already been made on significant areas of the new land expansion, and the Port of Hirtshals are in dialogue with several companies concerning the establishment of other business activities on the expansion.

The Port of Hirtshals is planning to erect four wind turbines on the land expansion. The turbines will be  150 metres high and 3.6 MW each. The wind turbines will be placed by the outer jetty, and the areas designated for business can be located in direct connection to the wind turbines.

Besides the newly established business areas on the land expansion, the Port of Hirtshals also dispose of smaller areas at the port, which are ready for lease. Some of these areas are also facing the main road to the port area.
